Brief About Omega Psi Phi Scholarships & Fraternity

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is the first fraternal society in the world to be established at the site of a historically black university.

The award was created to honor the late Honourable Brother H. Carl Moultrie, I. was The first Executive Secretary National of the Fraternity and the former chief justice of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

William H. Hastie Creative & Research Fellowship

The Creative and Research Fellowship was created in memory of the late Hon. William Hastie and his legacy as a teacher, a student educator, and a law expert. The award recognizes scholars and creative artists who are in urgent need of help to realization of their projects or publication, or research ongoing.

The candidate must be capable of:

  • Give proof of work in progress and include an abstract that explains the research being conducted.

Dr. Benjamin E. Mays Divinity Scholarship

The scholarship aims to fund studies at the graduate level in divinity or religious studies. The scholarship was created in September of 2017 and was given approval from the Supreme Council in honor of the late Dean Professor of the Howard University School of Divinity.

It aims to honor Bro. The late Dr. Ronald E. McNair is an American scientist and NASA Astronaut.

After submitting an application the applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • He should have a CGPA of at least 3.5 on an average of 4.0.
  • An applicant has to be an undergraduate student who is not yet a senior.
  • Get positive advice from the institution.
  • You must be an undergraduate brother in sophomore standing.
  • The pursuit of the undergraduate level in Engineering Technology, Science and Math fields, however, is not restricted to Physics Mathematics, Biology, and Engineering.

Herman .S. Dreer Scholarship/Leadership Award

This award grants financial aid to a student Brother who best exhibits the most fundamental values of Manhood and Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift.

The award was created in honor of a teacher and minister who was generous and the founder of the original Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. His daughters Clarice, Davis, and Vivian Deer along with other members from St. Louis Community founded the award. St. Louis Community founded the award.
